Keto as a Way of Life
All the listings on this page are Kitchen Tools that we use and really like.
As we use new gadgets in our recipes, we will add them here for your convenience.
These are mostly links to products on Amazon because that’s where we do most of our shopping. Also, if you buy any of these products through our links, we get a small commision on the sale at no added cost to you.
Bacon Grease Container
On Keto, we make a lot of bacon.
Like… a LOT!
We’ve found that keeping the drippings is a must, especially the weeks we go full Carnivore Keto. We liked this Bacon Grease Container because it’s inexpensive, well made, works perfectly and looks nice. Sometimes, simple is best.
Bread Loaf Pan
A loaf pan is one of the basic baking dishes for every kitchen.
I like this one for a few reasons.
The texture of the steel makes bread release a little easier.
This one nice and heavy, so it holds heat well. That also means it's tough and durable.
And I really like that this one is made in the USA.
Do you have one? No?
Well, let me recommend this one by Wilton. Rebecca really likes hers because it does a great job baking, but also because it doesn't stick.
I like it because it's pretty inexpensive compared to other kitchen equipment. Looking at other Bundt pans online, this one is priced right.
It also has 5 stars on Amazon, so I feel even better about recommending it
Every kitchen has at least a couple cake pans laying around or stuffed into a cabinet.
I'm listing these cake pans here because they are the ones we use. These are nice, heavy, durable pans that hold heat very well.
My favorite thing about this cake pan brand, though, is that it's made in the USA.
We've had ours for years now and we love them!
Alton Brown calls this device a Doppletasker; a tool that is terrible at doing what it is meant to do, but terrific at performing another task.
For the most part, coffee grinders are bad at grinding coffee, but they're great for herbs and spices!
So that's what we use ours for.
You don't have to spend a fortune on this tool either. The coffee/spice grinder we got on Amazon had 5 stars, was inexpensive and has worked wonderfully!
Dutch Oven by Lodge
Nothing cooks like cast iron! And Lodge does it right. I'm not just saying that because Lodge is based here in Tennessee....
But I mean, they ARE bases in TN so you know they make a high quality product!
Lodge has been making cast iron cookware since 1896 and some of their first products are STILL being used.
I can't recommend their dutch oven highly enough. It's nice, heavy pot holds heat like non other, and the lid can probably stop bullets. (I've never tested this, but I'm pretty confident this is true)
English Muffin Rounds
I admit that I bought these just to experiment with them and found that they can be used for all kinds of baked things.
Keto Pumpkin Spice Latte Coffee Cakes, of course, but also Keto English muffins, Keto sandwich bread, Keto blueberry muffins….
I even use them as an easy way to shape ground meat (beef or sausage) or to cook eggs in that perfectly round shape.
A Food Processor is a kitchen necessity. I use this one by Cuisinart and honestly can't imagine my kitchen without it.
It has a good heavy motor, sturdy parts and it's easy to use. Mine has seen almost daily use for over 8 years and it's still going strong.
All I can say is... "Homemade Almond Butter!"
After seeing all he Instant Pot recipes on Pinterest, we decided to see what all the fuss was about.
Holy cow! If you don’t have one of these yet, it’s time to get one. It’s crazy easy to use and makes whipping up family meals a breeze.
It takes the time out of long meal prep too. Think "crock pot" but faster!
Instant Read Thermometer
Stop trying to guess when your meat is done. When you learn to cook by temperature, you’ll never go back.
An instant read thermometer isn’t just for the grill. I use this one all the time in the kitchen.
This CuisinartCSB-79 Smart Stick Hand Blender is the one we use.
It has been an invaluable addition to our kitchen arsenal. The whisk attachment has even replaced our old standard hand mixer.
It whips cream in no time, purrees berries, immulsifies mayonaise, blends salad dressings, you name it!
KitchenAid Grinder Attachment
The grinder attachment for my KitchenAid Stand Mixer is one of the funnest tools we have in our kitchen.
It’s hard to find sausage in the store without additives or sugar, so we started making our own.
Folks, I’ll never go back to the store bought stuff!
KitchenAid Stand Mixer
By itself, a KitchenAid stand mixer is one of the best inventions since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.
The ability to add attachments turns this gadget into a miracle worker.
We use Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer to make our own butter which is super easy! Also, we use ours whip up Keto cake batters, to grind meat for our own Keto-friendly sausage, and a ton of other kitchen tasks.
It's a multi-purpose powerhouse!
Lodge Cast Iron Skillet
The first cooking implement my grandmother ever gave me was a cast iron skillet. I've cooked enough food in that thing to feed an army and it just keeps getting better because it gets more seasoned.
If you take care of your cast iron skillet, it will certainly take care of you.
Nothing holds heat or cooks as well as a cast iron skillet. No kitchen is complete without one.
I believe Lodge is the best brand because it's American made and always great quality.
Ninja Mega Kitchen System
We used to use the smaller Ninja to make smoothies, but the attachments that come with this system were too awesome not to get.
It's some wild combination of all the extra blades and the power of the larger unit that makes short work of anything you want to blend, chop, crush, puree, whatever! After we tried this bad boy out, we were hooked.
Ninja customer support is wonderful too. We broke the top on the blender (our fault) and they replaced it for us with one phone call; no charge! And they were super nice about it.
Silicone Cupcake Mold
An old fashion muffin tin is for suckers. Seriously.
How many muffins have you cooked in on of those things where they all came out without leaving half the muffin lodged in the tin?
Keto batters tend to be a little sticker than normal batters too, so we found that a silicone cupcake mold is the best way to handle those without sticking.
A silicone mat is, by far, the easiest way to keep baked goods from sticking to your sheet pans. I’ll never try to bake cookies, muffins or anything else on a pan lining other than a silicone mat again.
They’re easy to wash and take care of, and durable enough to last a long time.
A springform pan is a style of cake pan, but the walls of the pan are made to come apart from the bottom.
This function makes removing a cake, cheesecake, tart, or whatever you’re baking, easy.
